Snow, 3D TV and flower spikes

It started late yesterday afternoon and lasted until around 2 AM today. I think we have between 3 and 4 inches. I don't know how long it will take for me to get tired of it, but for today I am really loving the snow. Here are a few pics from around my house via webcams.
An added bonus is a day off from work. The down side is I am expecting a blu-ray movie (The Social Network) to be delivered at work today. Today is the perfect day to watch a movie or two and "putter around the house". I've got plenty o f other movies to choose from and lots of puttering that needs to get done. :-)
Speaking of movies and TV, I'm making the switch to 3D (at least 3D blu-ray at this point). My 82" Mitsubishi is 3D ready and it just needs the Mitsubishi 3D adapter, glasses, an HDMI 1.4 cable (NOTE: a high speed 1.3 cable is all that may be required...I'm getting conflicting info) and a 3D source. In this case it will be a Samsung 3D Blu-ray player (BD-C7900) and the glasses will be Optoma BG-ZD101 DLP Link 3D Glasses. The glasses don't require an emitter IF you are using a DLP TV. Everything should get here by Wednesday. My first movie will be Resident Evil: Afterlife. One bit of complaining about the studios and TV manufacturers trying to push the 3D blu-rays and hardware is that there are "exclusive bundles". Many early adopters of 3D are complaining that even if they have a Panasonic 3D TV and 3D blu-ray player, they can't take advantage of Panasonic's exclusive sale of Avatar in 3D blu-ray because you have to purchase a NEW 3D TV to get it. There are a few others, but this is sort of "THE 3D movie to get" that everyone with 3D wants. I'd love to get the movie, but I already have a 3D ready TV so I'm not going to buy a new one nor will I go on eBay and shell out over $100 for a questionable copy. Studios, please stop this practice because you are just shooting yourself in the foot. Semi-rant over.
The greenhouse is doing fine and I've got all sorts of surprise buds forming here and there. Almost all of my Phalaneopsis are putting up flower spikes. A number of these need some training so the flower spikes will grow upright instead of perpendicular to the plant. I'm always afraid I'll break the spike. Another surprise is the "difficult to grow" Cattleopsis cubensis has a flower spike that is about 1 1/2 inches long at this point. This will be the second or third time it has bloomed. The flowers are not that showy or anything, but I just like this small, unusual species.

Yes, it's the pond!
