It's been so very hot lately that it's been too hot to even blog. We are having a brief reprieve from the wicked hot weather today. It's 12:30 PM and it's only 86 degrees!

I've got a few goodies in bloom that I haven't posted and missed posting a few, but that's how it goes sometimes. I'll start with the pond.

I bought 3 hardy water lilies this spring. Only one thrived, one has just started getting ready to put up the first bud and a third one did sort of ok then died. The one that has done so well is Nymphaea "Colorado". It has gotten to the point where I have at least one flower in bloom all the time. Unfortunately, it opens up after I go to work and closes as I am getting home. Luckily I get to see it on weekends so it's not a problem.

This is a pond net basket with some pipe insulation on the side so it will float. Inside I have a "floating water fern", Salvia,Water Sprite, duckweed and a small sprig of Primrose Creeper. The main thing is it keeps the koi out and away from the roots and the leaves.

Now for the orchids.  The photos can just speak for themselves.

BTW, I have long since given up on trying to format text and images.  I try to do a justify left on everything all at once, on everything individually and even trying to reformat everything....the text and images just go where they please.  Today has been extra trying as it's got a mind of its own today.  I've got one sentence that's just underlined and there's no rhyme or reason.
